From vintage clothes to second-hand jewels, for many, eBay is the place to go for a pre-loved items. Recently one seller, “may_gurun01”, decided to list a Benjamin Bunny 2017 coin, in the hopes of achieving a huge amount of money. The eBay user seems only willing to part ways with the 50p coin for a whopping sum – having given it a Buy it now price of £300. They also dubbed the item as rare, and claimed it was used but in a “very good condition”.
As well as posting photos of the 50 pence piece in question, the seller also explained that it would come in a coin holder.
So, what do we know about this coin?
The Royal Mint issued the uncirculated Benjamin Bunny 50p coin in 2017.
The design celebrates the work of Beatrix Potter, and in particular, her children’s story, The Tale of Benjamin Bunny.
On the reverse of the coin itself, which was designed by Emma Noble, this cupro-nickel features a depiction of the character.
The name, Benjamin Bunny, is also present.
