Uttarakhand rains: Heavy downpour claims seven lives in Dehradun

Incessant rains have claimed as many as seven lives in different parts of Dehradun in Uttarakhand. Following the heavy overnight downpour, 4 people of a family were killed after wall of a house collapsed, while 3 other people were killed in different rain related incidents in Dehradun. In another incident, a JCB machine deployed for the rescue work in a partially submerged village in Kumaon region was swept away in river Ramganga. Most rivers in the Garhwal and Kumaon region of Uttarakhand are flowing close to danger mark. In Haridwar, Ganga is seen flowing just below the danger level, while rivers Kaali and Gori are also flowing close to danger mark in Pithoragarh.
